Miles and Jeff both grew up together in the same town called Ravensteed. It's known as a dull, bland town that's known for having kids missing frequently with the age range being 12-17. And one of the more popular stories being Jeff (blah blah his origin story, killing his family, yk) but on the news it says Jeff is just missing because a body hadn't been found in the home like the rest so nothing was comfirmed. Many families blamed it on the urban legend of slenderman as the reason why so many pre teens and teens were going missing.

As a kid, Miles was bubbly and full of energy, but growing up in Ravensteed felt like they were walking on eggshells all the time. Not to mention the town was full of creepy urban legends. The most popular being the tale of Slenderman, how he was an absurdly tall man with white skin and black tendrils who would stalk people without them knowing. But they could always feel a dark presence. And every time he was near, they would feel dull until he went away. Or, until he decided to take you away. Outside of having the occasional talk about legends, Miles didn't have many friends growing up. But the ones they did have they were happy with. They couldn't find joy with their mom and two brothers, so they relied on their friends for it. Miles couldn't form a genuine connection with their older brother, as he would constantly berate them for little mistakes or pressure them into doing more than they were supposed to. And for their mom, they always felt like she didn't know how to be anything but a friend instead of a parental figure. Being neglected meant they had to not only take care of themselves, but also their little brother who was too young to fend for himself. Their older brother always blamed them for being the reason why their mother was like this and it only made their energy and moods decrease. But they never complained, because they felt like others had it worse. Instead, they talked to their friends about it, who would always be there to listen.(Around this time, unbeknownst to them, slenderman also started to watch them. The reason being he could tell their mental health was only going to worsen with no proper care or love being treated with them. He stalked and followed them silently up until their late teenage years. They always felt empty inside every time he was near. They never understood what was making them feel this way. Were they hallucinating? Was something really watching them all this time? Or was their insanity just increasing by the day?)Everything changed when they got to high school. It's unknown how Miles would get themselves caught into the nastiest of rumors back then, as they were the type to not make eye contact for long and make awkward conversations and smiles around people they weren't familiar with. Despite presenting themselves as shy, people would take it the wrong way of them hiding something. This could've been because of the clothing style that they started to love and embrace for themselves. But their friends didn't like it. They didn't like being associated with someone who was called weird or a gothic freak. So one day, they decided to use everything Miles told them about their home life against them as a way to appeal to the more popular kids and gain a status above them.Rumors and gossip alike started spreading more like wildfire, and Miles felt like they couldn't walk into school without immediately feeling like someone was watching them. After their friends ditched them, they started getting bullied by them and the popular kids. From being called insults to getting lunch food "accidently" spilled on their clothes to "brighten up the colors". Miles loathed to walk without their head being down. Their mental health worsened and they started to spend more time in their room away from everyone, crying away their sorrows. Even ignoring their little brother, the only one they truly enjoyed being around. In school, they paid less attention to their surroundings and others around them, causing the nickname "Miles the Misfortunate" to be formed by their bullies. And at home, they began writing in a diary, filled with pages of thoughts they couldn't explain or express to anyone else. Their mom took notice of how sad they always looked and was worried sick about them. She tried talking to Miles about what was going on with them, but they refused. Feeling like she took to long to start acting like a parent. This happened up until prom night. They weren't planning on going, but their mom had bought them a beautiful black dress without them knowing, just for this occasion. And after giving it some thought, they caved in and decided to go. They would've felt bad wasting their mom's money like that. Miles attempted to calm their nerves and anxiety down, telling themselves that everything would be okay as long as they avoided everyone. They were allowed to have fun sometimes. And on the day of prom, they slipped a knife into their personal wallet. They weren't planning on using it, but brought it for protection just in case anyone tried to harm them.During some time at the party, Miles went over to the snack table. Having successfully avoiding anyone up until then, they wanted to get some juice the school provided in return. However, in the middle of Miles pouring themselves a drink, one of their ex friends walked up to the table and spilled the bowl of fruit punch all over them, ruining their dress. Miles stared in shock while the room went silent. When someone watching laughed, it created a chain of laughter all around the room. Overstimulated and on the brink of tears, Miles ran out, going through the emergency exit and kept running until they ran out of breath, ending up in a secluded forest near the school. Only then did they start to focus again and realized one of the bullies followed them. Blinded by embarrassment and fear of being mistreated again, they took out the knife they carried on them and sliced at the bully who attempted to come closer. The bully fell in pain and tried to defened themselves. With adrenaline and lunacy building in Miles' body, they managed to overpower them. Climbing on top of the bully, they screamed in despair, stabbing them repeatedly, their vision blurred by the tears. They didn't stop until their arms ached and they lowered the knife. Once they came to their senses, they fled. Attempting to leave the body there to rot until it was found. They didn't make it far. Suddenly, slenderman appeared in front of them, sending waves of dullness over Miles. They looked up at the extremely tall figure in surprise. They hadn't expected the rumors to actually be real. He made a deal with them that he could take all of their pain away if they just followed him and became a part of a group named "proxies." And without a second thought, they accepted. Feeling as they had nothing left for them anyways. Not after this.He took them away, and that's how they live in the mansion now. They hope their family thinks they're dead, so anyone won't try to look for them. They wouldn't know after they changed their number and blocked their contacts. But sometimes when they think of their little brother and remember how he's stuck there in the hands of not the greatest people, they start to panic. But Jeff always manages to comfort them out of it until they're calm again.

Misery loves company ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚:
────୨ৎ────⋆ Their relationship goes beyond just attraction. it started around highschool (before they even considered to date each other/before jeff went missing) but would have expanded around the time Miles gets brought to the slendermansion. Their relationship is mostly based on emotional attachment and personal experiences, even if you don't see that at first glance.⋆ During highschool Miles would usually skip classes just to have time to themselves, or would eat outside on the bleachers during lunch to get away from everybody. And during one of those times, they found Jeff skipping also. It was awkward but the both of them chose to stay. It wasn't something that happened everyday, just occasionally. With Jeff doing most of the talking and Miles making small input, or the two sitting in comfortable silence. Despite their personalities seeming like it would clash, they didn't mind being near each other. Even with Miles knowing Jeff's reputation, it didn't bother them. Because they knew they were outcasts together.⋆ It definitely would've been awkward to see each other again after a few years later since they have history. They avoided each other for some time until they eventually gave in and started talking. (this is also how miles finds out jeff killed his family and was never rlly missing since he was a serial killer + living in the mansion).⋆ But they didn't just talk about it and decide to start dating. Them getting into a relationship kinda just happened on its own naturally. Like they both initiate a kiss one day and now its like: "well this is a thing now ig". Even though Miles has trouble with communicating often and Jeff can be a pain in the ass, out of everyone in the mansion, they understand each other the best.

Archie always liked attention. It made him feel good, even as a kid. Growing up in Ann Arbor, he struggled with making friends despite trying so hard to, which instead made him start to rely on his parents to feel important. But it never felt good enough for him because they were neglectful. And during the times they weren't, they would constantly baby him, something he always despised. To him, it felt like they viewed him as more of a pet project than something to love unconditionally with a goal set in mind: to make his life great. His parents didn't put in much effort to form a connection with him, which is how Archie's schizophrenia went unnoticed. They were too prideful and caught up in their own lives, they neglected their son.Highschool was the first time Archie felt like people actually noticed him. During his freshman year, he attempted to make friends but for the most part kept to himself. However, this changed when he was introduced into a friend group of troubled students after he was partnered up with one of them for a project. They thought he was cool, so they invited him to hang out with them and he gladly accepted. He failed to see any signs of bad intentions. This caused a rift in his reputation. Whether it was good or bad depended on who you asked. He started to get himself into different types of trouble, like stealing from stores or vandalism. Although it made him uncomfortable to get into avoidable situations, he never voiced this because he was scared of being dumped. He finally had people in his life who cared about him, and he wasn't going to let this go. For once, Archie felt like he had a sense of control in his life, even if temporarily. He started sneaking out the house to get a break from his parents. But besides scolding after finding out, they didn't stop him. They thought he was just going through a phase because of aging. So they didn't look any deeper into it, being stubborn as always.Over time, the excitement Archie felt with his friends slowly became mixed with anxiety and he began feeling unsure of himself. He thought hanging out with them would fix his problems, but it started to make everything worse. This became known after his friends beckoned him to drink alcohol with them. He was hesitant to do so at first, but after comments and pressure from them, he caved in. He couldn't bear the thought of disappointing them. After that, he started drinking more during their hangouts and getting into more trouble, though it never felt right. He started paying more attention to how he was perceived in school. Even when convincing himself he didn't care about their opinions, the feeling kept lingering underneath, making him more insecure and self-conscious of his image. His outburst and mood swings became much more noticable. His parents started to raise questions and Archie shut himself off from them more. He was too embarrassed to speak about his problems to them, so he turned to other ways of coping. When he wasn't with his friends, he was busy reading anatomy books or playing his guitar, giving him an escape, even if just for a little bit. It brought him comfort not much else in his life had given him before. But by senior year, it was hard to ignore Archie's mental state worsening. Everyone could see it, especially Archie himself who tried hard not to acknowledge it. He wanted to convince himself that he was fine, even with the voice in his head constantly getting louder. He went to school less, he didn't want to feel like people were watching him all the time. And unfortunately, went to worse extremes by drinking more and hanging out with his friends, thinking that would take his mind off of things. This changed the night he decided to sneak out to hang out with one of his friends. Without telling Archie what he would need them for, they gave him a pair of blue scissors to keep while they walked and talked before stopping at a house with a garden in front. He felt a sickening feeling in his gut, but ultimately stayed anyway. Until, his friend told him to destroy their plants and cut them apart. He hesitated. He had never destroyed someones property before, the worse he's done being vandalism on walls or stealing. After a few moments, Archie eventually refused, surprising himself and his friend. The friend calmly took a step forward and started to coax him with berating words. Despite the shame he felt, he listened to it all and gripped the scissors in his hand tighter when he started hearing a voice in his head again. The silence made his friend start yelling at him in anger. Archie had been hyperventilating the whole exchange and wished for it to be over, before his friend took a step closer and said he'd be nothing without them, that he's only valuable when useful, and he snapped. All of his fears had been confirmed, and by someone he trusted no less.Anger bubbled up inside of his already panicked state and he slashed at them wildly when he felt he was in danger. He was losing himself in the moment and continued to attack them in agony, not stopping until the body stopped moving also.Afterwards, he felt relieved, like a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders. For once, everything was silent. Because for a brief second, nobody had power over him anymore. But when he finally came to his senses and realized what he had done, the horror took over him and he dropped to the ground in dismay. He didn't know what to do with the body, he thought his life was over. He stayed there for a while, staring at the corpse. Before he finally looked up and saw the tall, blank faced man in front of him, and suddenly felt dull. Slenderman, as he called himself, promised Archie he could take away his worries and bring him somewhere safe, where people actually care about him. Without thinking about how the man knew of his personal issues, he accepted.Archie lives in the mansion now. He doesn't think about his past often, if at all. He blocks the memory of his old friends and family out of his mind for his own mental health. He feels like he has genuine connections now, a better family. He still suffers from the same insecurities and bad episodes despite having a good support system now, but it's easier to go through with his now real friends and boyfriend, Jack, there to help and give him space if need be.
